简介:

Shnycomn English School is the first school in Songyuan to be run by both American and Chinese headmasters, each having a great deal of teaching experience in China. Our school environment is fresh, positive, creative, and boasts a family atmosphere. We have counseled a large number of students, which has resulted in new growth, as well as praise of the students¡¯ guardians. Just this past summer, we hosted a very successful international cultural communication exchange for both Chinese and American students.

If you're looking for something different or a chance to enjoy China, try Songyuan. With four distinct seasons, it offers enjoyable seasonal changes that enhance the natural beauty of the area. Shnycomn English School lies in the heart of Songyuan City, within the Mongolian Autonomous Region, making the area a unique blend of culture, history, and language. The locals are both friendly and courteous. Visitors are welcomed and can enjoy modern Chinese life while still experiencing the rural and non commercialized aspects of the community. Songyuan is still a very Chinese city with no English spoken or advertised; it offers our teachers a unique taste of beautiful northern China.

Rich in natural resources, Songyuan city is notable for being one of the fastest developing cities in China and is divided by the Songhua River. Songyuan is richly endowed with hundreds of rivers and lakes, and distinguishes itself by its charming water landscapes. Other major cities, such as Harbin (capital of Heilongjiang) and Jilin¡¯s capital city of Changchun are easily accessible by train or bus, making it a convenient place for traveling, shopping, and sightseeing.

For nature lovers, there are nearby mountains (hiking, skiing, and climbing) as well as lush grasslands, the 6th largest lake in China (Chagan Lake), and natural forest areas. In addition, Songyuan is home to the newly built Longhua Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Asia. Chagan Lake is a national year-round tourism resort, and is very well preserved. The winter fishing in December and January is a special attraction. In December 2006, 104,500 kilograms of fish were caught in a single net, amounting to the current world record, verified by Guinness World Records.

If you want to save money, Living in Songyuan is economical, partly because the city has not yet had an influx of Westerners and business people. You can live comfortably for 2,000 RMB (U.S. $300) a month, although many locals spend much less. There's a wide range of food options: a meal of dumplings costs about 8 RMB ($1.25) and a high-end Brazilian BBQ buffet is around 60 RMB ($10). Most popular, though, are mid-range restaurants that feature cuisine from all over China, where dishes cost somewhere between 10 to 25 RMB ($1.50¡§C$3.75). You can also get Chinese-style salads for 8 RMB ($1.25), beef noodles for 5 RMB ($0.75), and a large beer for 4 RMB ($0.60). There is good shopping, with several large complexes supplying everything you might need. Street markets in the late afternoon are plentiful, offering a wide range of fresh food and various odds and ends.

Come to Songyuan and teach English in Shnycomn English School. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
